Jose is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience in finance & corporate affairs across financial services , manufacturing and other industries.
Jose has been on the Board of several companies including multinational joint ventures and Tata group companies. He has also served as executive committee member of FIDC (Finance Industries Development Council), an apex organisation of financial service companies.
Apart from a strong business orientation Jose also has an inclination to serve the social cause and has put special focus on ventures where both causes can be served simultaneously. This has lead him to spearhead a venture Arogya Finance primarily focused on providing health care finance for the masses.
Jose has been closely associated helping companies with their business and finance strategies and has experience in all areas including accounting and financial management, strategy planning, acquisitions and mergers, disinvestments, capital raising and buyback, business restructuring, investor relations, taxation, etc.
Prior to forming Index Advisory Jose has worked Tata Motors Finance, Ion Exchange, Tata Motors etc. Mr Jose has played a major role in the turnaround and growth of many companies. He was also instrumental in the turnaround and financial restructuring of the erstwhile Tata Finance Limited.
Jose is regarded as an expert in retail financing assets management, and has developed a thorough understanding of the banking and financial services industry systems & processes, its legal and regulatory framework, management of risks (operational, transactional & fraud)and its pricing, collections, remedial and legal recoveries, governance mechanisms, etc. Jose has been spearheading innovative risk management solutions and has been instrumental in development of a world-class risk based pricing model, the first of its kind in India. He has also pioneered the use of Psychometric tests for risk assessment.
